What builds up in an Edmonton duct system

How often should I have my furnace and ducts cleaned?
The National Air Duct Cleaners Association suggests every three to five years for most homes. Edmonton homes often sit at the shorter end of that range because heating seasons are long and windows stay shut for months, so the same air keeps cycling through the system. Pets, recent renovations, allergies or a new build push the interval shorter again.
How long does a furnace and duct cleaning take?
Most single family homes take two to four hours depending on the size of the system, the number of vents, and how long it has been since the last clean. We confirm the expected window before we start so you can plan around it.
Do you move furniture when cleaning carpets?
We move light and medium furniture as part of the job. We leave heavy items such as pianos, full bookcases and wall units in place and clean around them. If you want a room completely cleared, move the small items beforehand and we will handle the rest.
How long do carpets take to dry?
Typically four to eight hours. Drying is faster in winter when indoor humidity is low, and slower in humid summer weather. Running the furnace fan moves it along. You can walk on the carpet in clean socks straight away.
